A slide-on camper can sit in your ute's factory tub or on a flat ute tray. The pop-top roof, packages and build quality are the same — the difference is what the camper sits on, and what that means for space and cost.

Tub-mount: keep your ute as it is
The camper slides into the factory tub and ties down. Nothing on the ute changes, so it is the simplest and lowest-cost way to a slide-on — and when the camper is off, you have a normal ute again.
Tray-mount: more space and storage
Without wheel arches in the way, a tray-mount camper body is wider and squarer, with lockers on the outside for gear. It suits utes already running a tray, cab-chassis utes such as the LandCruiser 79, and owners who want the most living space.

About the tray
If your ute is still on its factory tub, a tray-mount camper needs a flat ute tray first. The tray is supplied and fitted by a local tray builder, who also completes local compliance — tray length, rear overhang, lights and number plate. Send us the tray dimensions and we confirm the camper fits before you order.
Which to choose
- Keeping the factory tub, daily driving, lowest cost: tub-mount.
- Already on a tray, a cab-chassis ute, or wanting more room and outside storage: tray-mount.
FAQ
Is the tray included with a tray-mount camper?
No. The tray is supplied and fitted locally, and the tray builder completes local compliance.
Can I move a tub-mount camper to a tray later?
The two bodies are built for different bases. Tell us your plans before production and we will advise.
Which is lighter?
For the same package, the tub-mount body is usually smaller; the tray adds its own weight too. We confirm camper weight with your quote.
